SL recipient Diego Golombek is profiled in The Economist for his research on circadian rhythms. The research was published in The Proceedings of the National Academies of Science and the Journal of Neuroscience.

March 2007

Our first shipment in what we hope will be a long-term partnership with the Universite Protestante au Congo in Kinshasa. The UPC is a model of transparency and effective education in a troubled country, and this is the first year of their new medical school. We are pleased to have equipped the teaching labs in physics, biology and chemistry for their program designed to maximize their students’ scientific knowledge and training in rural health.

Summer 2006

2 more shipments to Argentina. Shipment to a CARE sponsored clinic in Madagascar marks our first shipment to Africa (and our first shipment beyond Latin America/Caribbean).

Seeding Labs named one of 5 finalists in the first year of the Social Enterprise competition of the MIT $100K.

February 2005

More equipment received: Dr. Ricardo Morbidoni at the Universidad Nacional de Rosario, Argentina works on treatments for tuberculosis.

June 2004

Laboratories in Brazil, Venezuela, and Ecuador can soon expect to receive stir plates, water baths, and a sonicator, among other equipment and consumables. Thank you to the Sustainable Sciences Institute for making shipping this equipment possible.

Destination Cange: 14 cartons of equipment and consumables were shipped to the Partners In Health/Zanmi LaSante clinic in Cange, Haiti.

We have laboratory and clinical equipment packed and ready to be shipped to Partners In Health as soon as the political situation in Haiti permits. A shipment for Sustainable Sciences Institute partner labs in South America is almost ready as well.
